About the Role

The Field Service Technician is an individual contributor and a technical leader on complex field technology projects. You will own advanced installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and technical validation of EPIC iO solutions, and you will guide the people around you: project managers, technicians, subcontractors, vendors, and customers. We are looking for someone with a lead mindset who can run a job site, set the technical direction, and mentor others, even though this role does not have direct reports.

Responsibilities & Tasks

• Lead the technical side of complex field projects: advanced installation, configuration, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Own project planning inputs: schedules, site readiness, technical approach, and documentation for complex or higher-risk deployments.
• Coordinate and direct subcontractors, vendors, and field technicians on site to keep work safe, on schedule, and on spec.
• Mentor and coach technicians and junior engineers; share field learnings that improve quality and repeatability.
• Lead technical validation of systems and configurations before customer handoff.
• Troubleshoot escalated issues and document root cause, corrective actions, and lessons learned.
• Run site visits and assessments: feasibility, design needs, risks, materials, safety, and customer readiness.
• Be the technical point of contact for customers and project managers: communicate status, risks, and recommended solutions.
• Keep project documentation, compliance records, and site notes complete and accurate.
• Follow and reinforce safety guidelines, industry standards, and customer requirements.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in field engineering, system installation, technical troubleshooting, or field deployment work.
• Demonstrated leadership or management skills: leading projects or crews, coordinating subcontractors and vendors, mentoring others (direct reports not required).
• Strong technical knowledge of networking, hardware configuration, system integration, installation, and troubleshooting.
• Strong problem-solving, technical documentation, and customer communication skills.
• Working knowledge of project management: scope, dependencies, scheduling, and risk.
• Ability to work independently in the field while meeting safety, quality, and customer requirements.

Desired Qualifications

• Relevant technical certifications.
• Experience with wireless technologies, IoT solutions, CCTV, access control, system integration, or networked video systems.
• Previous customer support, field service, or complex field deployment experience.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to travel as needed for on-site projects.
• Comfortable working in outdoor, industrial, construction, and customer site environments.
• Ability to lift, move, and handle technical equipment safely.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and work around active job sites as required.
