What they need

Field Service Technician | Industrial Coding & Labelling

Penrose Based | North Island customer sites | Market leading salary package!

When equipment develops a fault and a customer is waiting, can you work through the problem, explain what’s happening and see the job through from breakdown to solution?

Why join Reynolds?

You’ll join an established team, including colleagues who have been with the business for more than a decade. You’ll have structured onboarding, equipment training and experienced technicians to learn from as you build confidence across the product range.

The role offers:

  • Total remuneration package is exemplary including on-call, call out and overtime rates
  • Vehicle included
  • Monday-to-Friday core hours, with on-call once proficient
  • Ongoing technical training
  • Varied customer environments and the independence to organise your work

Reynolds Group is looking for a Field Service Technician with sound diagnostic skills, a practical mindset and the confidence to work through technical challenges independently.

You’ll bring your technical experience. We’ll provide training on our equipment, support from experienced colleagues and the opportunity to build specialist knowledge across industrial coding and labelling technology.

Equipment with a purpose

Reynolds helps New Zealand manufacturers identify, label and trace their products. Our technology supports businesses across food, beverage, dairy, horticulture and other manufacturing sectors.

For our customers, reliable equipment matters to production. As a technician, you’ll work across a varied range of industrial coding and labelling equipment, where technology, customer environments and faults can change from one job to the next. You’ll need to think on your feet, investigate problems methodically and communicate clearly with customers while keeping their operations moving.

Your work

Working at customer sites across the North Island, you’ll:

  • Diagnose and repair faults in industrial coding and labelling equipment.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance, identifying issues before they become breakdowns.
  • Support installations and commissioning.
  • Manage your bookings and communicate clearly when priorities change.
  • Complete service records and give customers a clear explanation of the work carried out.
  • Work safely and draw on the wider service team when a problem needs additional expertise.

There is autonomy here, alongside responsibility for the quality of your work and the customer’s experience.

What you’ll bring

You’ll have experience servicing and repairing electrical, mechanical or electromechanical equipment, with specific examples of faults you have personally diagnosed, the steps you took to resolve them and the results you have achieved.

Your background could be in industrial field service, manufacturing maintenance, packaging equipment or another relevant equipment service environment.

We’re particularly interested in how you work:

  • You communicate as well as you troubleshoot. You listen, ask the right questions and explain technical issues in plain language. You keep customers informed about progress, next steps and likely timeframes, even when the answer isn’t straightforward. They shouldn’t have to chase you for an update.
  • You stay composed when priorities change. You keep working safely and give customers realistic updates and remain professional when production is under pressure.
  • You are able to keep cool in a crisis: When your clients equipment is down, they lose money. You don’t lose your head, you diagnose, repair and get them back up and running safely, and in a timely manner.
  • You take ownership. You manage your work, follow through on commitments, document what you have done and know when to draw on the wider team’s expertise.
  • Bring the right attitude. You are composed, practical, curious and comfortable working independently at customer sites, including busy manufacturing environments.
  • You’re interested in the technology. You enjoy learning how equipment works and can apply your technical knowledge to unfamiliar faults and changing situations.

Electrical registration requirement: You must have EAS, EST OR Full EWRB licensing, for this role.

Interested? Apply now and tell us about the equipment you’ve worked on, the faults you’ve solved and how you approach a challenging technical problem.
