We coordinate field technicians with remote service delivery teams to support customer technology requirements across multiple locations.

Position Overview

Sharp Brains is seeking qualified and reliable Field Service Technicians to support Point-of-Sale (POS) terminal installation, replacement, relocation, and troubleshooting assignments.

Technicians will visit designated customer locations, complete assigned technical activities, coordinate with remote support teams when required, and verify equipment functionality before completing the onsite visit.

Assignments are offered based on project requirements, technician availability, and customer approval.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, replace, relocate, and troubleshoot POS terminals and related equipment.
• Connect and verify POS hardware, peripherals, power supplies, Ethernet cables, and associated components.
• Perform basic hardware diagnostics and connectivity troubleshooting.
• Follow technical instructions provided by remote support or service delivery teams.
• Replace defective equipment or components when authorized by the work order.
• Conduct basic functionality checks following installation or repair.
• Provide timely status updates and communicate with the remote support team throughout the assignment.
• Capture required onsite photographs and submit work completion documentation according to project instructions.
• Follow customer site policies, safety procedures, access requirements, and professional conduct standards.
• Safely package and prepare removed equipment for return when required.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience with POS systems, payment terminals, retail technology, field service, or Smart Hands support.
• Hands-on experience installing and replacing hardware.
• Familiarity with cabling, connectivity checks, and basic network troubleshooting.
• Ability to work independently at customer locations while following remote technical guidance.
• Reliable transportation and the ability to arrive within the agreed service window.
• Professional communication and timely reporting.
• Ability to use a laptop or smartphone for work-order documentation and remote communication.

Technician Tools & Equipment

Technicians may be required to provide:

• Laptop and smartphone with reliable internet connectivity.
• Basic field-service hand tools.
• Ethernet/LAN cables and common connectivity accessories.
• USB drive and other project-specific tools or materials, as specified in the work order.
• Additional equipment listed in the applicable assignment instructions.

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
