Field Specialist II - Completions

Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

Work Schedule: Rotational - 60 Days ON / 30 Days OFF Work Environment: Onshore & Offshore Operations

Position Overview

The Field Specialist III - Completions is responsible for planning, executing, and supervising completion operations at customer well sites. The position serves as the primary technical representative at the field location, providing technical expertise, job supervision, troubleshooting, and customer support.

The role requires a strong focus on HSE, quality, operational excellence, and safe and efficient deployment of completion technologies .

Key Responsibilities

Completion Operations

• Plan, supervise, and execute completion operations in accordance with company and customer procedures.
• Prepare completion tallies and review completion schematics.
• Perform space-out calculations and verify completion configurations before deployment.
• Install, test, troubleshoot, maintain, and retrieve completion equipment and downhole tools.
• Supervise completion activities and ensure proper execution at the well site.

⚙️ Smart Completion Technologies

• Support Smart Completion operations.

• Install and operate:

• Downhole gauges

• Intelligent Control Valves (ICVs)

• Fiber-optic systems

• Other intelligent completion technologies

• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and completion-system issues to minimize Non-Productive Time (NPT).

️ HSE, Quality & Reporting

• Conduct equipment inspections and pressure testing.
• Perform risk assessments before and during operations.
• Ensure compliance with HSE standards, quality procedures, and customer requirements.
• Prepare accurate post-job reports and maintain operational documentation.
• Maintain equipment maintenance and service records.

Leadership & Customer Coordination

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior field personnel.
• Liaise with customers, drilling and completion teams, and internal stakeholders.
• Support effective planning and execution of field operations.
• Maintain strong customer relationships and professional communication.

Candidate Requirements

Education

A Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in one of the following disciplines:

• Mechanical Engineering
• Petroleum Engineering
• Electrical Engineering
• Related technical discipline

The required educational level may depend on the candidate's experience.

️ Professional Experience

• 5-10 years of oilfield experience in completion operations.
• Minimum 2-5 years of extensive hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas:

Core Completions

• Completion tally preparation
• Completion schematics
• Job supervision
• Space-out calculations

Smart Completions

• Downhole gauges
• Intelligent Control Valves (ICVs)
• Fiber-optic systems
• Related intelligent completion technologies

Previous Experience With An Oilfield Service Company Is Preferred. Offshore Experience & Certifications

Offshore experience is highly desirable.

Working Conditions

This is a field-based position supporting onshore and offshore completion operations in the UAE and other locations as required.

The Role Involves 60 Days ON / 30 Days OFF rotational schedule ✈️ Frequent travel and extended assignments

Onshore & offshore field operations

️ Working in physically demanding environments and extreme temperatures

⏱️ Extended operational hours when required

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is an experienced Completions Field Specialist with strong hands-on exposure to Core Completions and/or Smart Completions , capable of independently supervising field operations, troubleshooting completion systems, coordinating with customers and field teams, and maintaining strict HSE and quality standards.
