Field Technical Trainer

Nmble is partnering with a global leader in warehouse and supply chain automation to add field trainers to its technical training team. In this role you’ll travel to customer sites and training centers across the country. You’ll teach the people who run and maintain advanced material handling systems how to keep them performing at their best.

This is a good fit for an experienced controls trainer who likes being on the road, enjoys new environments, and gets real satisfaction from watching a room full of technicians get it.

What You’ll Do

• Deliver training on system operations, mechanical maintenance, controls maintenance, specific equipment, software, and customer solutions, both at customer sites and at Learning Center locations
• Explain how custom automation solutions fit into the full operation of material handling systems
• Act as a subject matter expert who helps build student guides and training materials for in-person and digital delivery
• Adapt quickly as curriculum, equipment, and customer needs change
• Take on more responsibility as your knowledge of the systems grows

What You Bring

• 5+ years of experience delivering technical training on customized products or systems, ideally in material handling or automation with a controls focus
• Proficiency with PLCs and experience with PLC programming and industrial controls (Allen-Bradley and Siemens preferred)
• Working knowledge of mechanical systems, machine diagnostics, repair, and automation
• Ability to read and interpret industrial mechanical and controls drawing sets
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with strong attention to detail
• A genuine desire to help others learn
• Willingness to travel up to 75%, often on short notice
• Home base within reasonable driving distance of a major airport

Physical & Safety Requirements

• Follow PPE requirements at all times
• Move around equipment in distribution environments, including bending, crouching, and reaching
• Climb ladders and multi-story steel stairways
• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs of tools and equipment
• Stand and walk on concrete surfaces for long periods
• Use small hand tools
• Work in a range of temperatures, from freezer conditions to high heat, near hot surfaces and moving equipment
