Field Service Technician – Wind Electrical

Location: Texas – Field-based/traveling

Houston preferred, but not required

Compensation: $65 per hour plus overtime at 1.5x after 40 hours

The Opportunity

A rapidly growing international wind-energy organization is expanding its US field-service team and looking for experienced industrial or commercial electricians interested in moving into the wind sector.

Previous wind experience is welcomed but not essential. The priority is a strong electrical foundation, experience working with high-voltage equipment and electrical cabinets, and the ability to work independently in demanding field environments.

Successful candidates will receive extensive manufacturer-led training in Europe before supporting wind projects across the United States and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical commissioning, testing, troubleshooting and maintenance on wind-turbine systems.
• Work safely within high-voltage electrical cabinets and confined equipment areas.
• Diagnose electrical faults and take ownership of issues through resolution.
• Support system energization, inspections and corrective work.
• Communicate clearly with customers, site teams and international technical specialists.
• Complete field documentation and communicate project progress accurately.
• Represent the organization professionally while working at customer locations.
• Travel throughout the United States and internationally as project demands require.

Required Experience

• Certified industrial or commercial electrician.
• Hands-on experience working with electrical cabinets, switchgear or industrial control systems.
• High-voltage electrical experience.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned work.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Professional communication and customer-facing ability.
• Willingness to travel extensively and complete training and project rotations in Europe.
• Ability to meet applicable wind-turbine access, climbing and rescue-equipment requirements, including a maximum combined body weight and PPE limit of 125 kg.

Preferred Background

• Three or more years of industrial electrical experience.
• Wind, power-generation, commissioning or field-service experience.
• Experience working in offshore, remote or high-travel environments.
• Familiarity with SEP requirements.
• High-voltage, GWO or equivalent wind-industry certifications.
• Experience working within small, autonomous field teams.

Training

The organization will provide:

• Two weeks of classroom-based technical training in Denmark.
• Approximately four to six weeks of hands-on training across European wind-turbine sites.
• Required wind-industry training and certifications before field deployment.

Candidates must be comfortable with ongoing international travel following the initial training period.
