This is a great opportunity to join the GenPower Services team and work with an industry-leading Tier 1 Mining client on a 1 week on and 1 week off roster maintaining mechanical systems across a large fleet of CAT / Hitachi Heavy Machinery.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking experienced Heavy Diesel Fitters for multiple positions across all crews to perform maintenance and repairs on CAT / Hitachi Heavy Mobile Equipment, along with others. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, previous experience working with heavy machinery including CAT 777 & 785 dump trucks, Dozers, Graders & Diggers, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for ensuring that the equipment we help maintain operates at peak performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Diagnose and repair Heavy Mobile equipment as required
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections to identify potential issues and prevent breakdowns
• Disassemble and reassemble heavy equipment mechanical systems
• Use diagnostic tools and equipment to assess and repair equipment efficiently
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety regulations and guidelines
• Collaborate with team members to complete complex repairs
• Communicate works with client and GenPower Supervisor daily / weekly

REQUIREMENTS:

• Australian recognised trade completion certificate in HD / Plant Machinery Technology or similar trade certificate
• Prior experience on CAT / Hitachi Heavy Equipment required
• A strong commitment to safety and quality is essential
• Prior mining experience is not essential
• National Police Clearance
• Practical experience working within a heavy-duty machinery maintenance environment
• Good communication skills
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Strong diagnostic skills
• Self-motivated, with the ability to work as part of a team
• High level of attention to detail
• Positive and proactive attitude

• High level of self-motivation and commitment
• Current drivers’ licence (minimum)
