As a Social Worker (SEWB), you’ll provide culturally safe, trauma-informed and community-led support to individuals, families and communities. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you’ll provide counselling, advocacy, care coordination and outreach while helping strengthen resilience, connection to culture, family and Country.

This role offers you the opportunity to:

  • Make a genuine difference across remote Yarnangu communities.
  • Support meaningful and lasting SEWB outcomes.
  • Work within an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation that values cultural authority and community leadership.
  • Develop specialised skills in remote practice, trauma-informed care and Indigenous SEWB.
  • Build strong relationships where culture, community and connection are central to your work.
  • Contribute to stronger, safer and thriving communities.

Flexible FIFO roster options – 4 to 8 weeks on each swing, depending on your location.

About you:

You’re a qualified Social Worker who is passionate about culturally safe, community-led practice and supporting the social and emotional wellbeing of Aboriginal people.

Essential Criteria:

  • A Degree in Social Work and eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
  • Demonstrated experience delivering culturally safe services across Aboriginal health, SEWB, mental health, child and family services or related settings.
  • Experience in trauma-informed assessment, counselling and psychosocial support.
  • Strong cultural capability and a commitment to working in a malparara way.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
  • A current driver’s licence and willingness to travel across the Ngaanyatjarra Lands.

Desirable:

  • Experience working in remote Aboriginal communities.
