Figure Skating Instructor – Job Description

We are seeking a passionate, dependable, and enthusiastic Figure Skating Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to helping skaters of all ages and abilities develop their skills in a safe, supportive, and professional environment, from beginners to more advanced athletes.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, effective on-ice figure skating lessons.
• Teach and develop skating skills, including proper technique, edge work, jumps, spins, and overall performance.
• Provide constructive feedback to help skaters improve and achieve their goals.
• Monitor, assess, and track skater progress, maintaining accurate records of grades and skill development.
• Foster a positive, safe, and encouraging learning environment.
• Communicate professionally with skaters, parents, and facility staff.

Qualifications

• Previous figure skating coaching or instructional experience preferred.
• Skate Canada coaching status in good standing, or equivalent qualifications.
• Strong knowledge of figure skating fundamentals, techniques, and skill progression.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and professional with a strong work ethic.
• Patient, adaptable, and comfortable working with skaters of varying ages and skill levels.
