Final Trim Grader Operator

About the role

Reporting to the Site Manager, you will operate a motor grader to achieve precise final levels and finishes in accordance with project plans and design specifications.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Completing final trim work to required levels and tolerances
• Trimming and shaping road surfaces, subgrades, batters and drainage systems
• Working from construction plans, survey pegs, laser levels and GPS machine-control systems
• Ensuring correct levels, alignment and surface finishes are achieved
• Conducting pre-start inspections and basic equipment maintenance
• Identifying and reporting equipment faults and safety concerns
• Working closely with surveyors, supervisors and other operators
• Maintaining a clean and safe work area
• Complying with all WHS requirements and company procedures

About you

To be successful, you will have:

• Proven experience operating graders in final trim applications
• Strong knowledge of civil construction and earthworks
• The ability to read and interpret construction plans and levels
• Experience using GPS machine-control systems such as Topcon or Trimble
• A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• A current driver’s licence
• A Construction Industry White Card
• Relevant machinery tickets or competency certification

GPS machine-control training and other relevant civil construction tickets will be highly regarded.
