What they need
Black Swan is Western Australia’s State theatre company. Resident at the State Theatre Centre of WA, our purpose is to create exceptional, high-quality theatre that speaks to the world from our unique WA culture, landscape and moment in time.
We are looking for a Finance Administrator to join our small team and work closely with our Finance Manager, owning the day-to-day finance processing.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone organised, proactive and confident working on their own. You won't be micro-managed - we're after someone who takes initiative and looks for better ways to do things.
This is a genuine part-time role, and we are flexible on which days and hours you work, including arrangements that fit around school hours or other commitments. We are a friendly and supportive team and looking for someone to join us in meaningful work supporting one of WA's flagship arts companies.
About the role
As the Finance Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the day-to-day operations within the dynamic and creative environment of the organisation, ensuring efficient administrative processes and contributing to the success of our productions.
- Day-to-day bookkeeping in MYOB and Excel
- Accounts payable - enter and code supplier bills, prepare payment runs and remittances, reconcile supplier statements, handle credit applications
- Accounts receivable - raise invoices, allocate receipts, issue statements and follow up outstanding accounts
- Daily banking - Reconcile Tessitura ticketing reports to MYOB bank feeds
- Corporate credit cards - distribute statements, chase coding and receipts, collate and post to MYOB
- Petty cash, production advances and staff reimbursements
- Provide Audit support.
- Assist the Finance Manager with month-end tasks such as cash flow & inventory reconciliation.
About you
We’re looking for:
- At least 2 years in bookkeeping or a similar finance role
- Experience with MYOB or similar. Experience with Xero & Tessitura also considered an advantage.
- Confident across accounts payable, accounts receivable and bank reconciliations
- Sharp attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisation and time management
- Discreet and trustworthy with confidential financial information
- A genuine team player who'll provide strong support to the Finance Manager
