What they need
About us
Freedom Of Movement is a growing retail business with a culture we call Uhambo: “together we move to inspire.” We live by four core values: trust, teamwork, inspiration and balance. We’re expanding our finance team and are looking for two detail-driven Finance Administrators to join us at our head office in Richwood.
About the role
Reporting to the Financial Accountant, you’ll process and review the day-to-day transactions that keep our business running, from supplier invoices and credit card statements to daily store cash-ups and sales reconciliations. You’ll be the go-to support for store finance queries and play a key part in month-end, tax and audit readiness.
What you’ll do
- Accurately process and code financial transactions, including supplier invoices, rental invoices and credit card transactions
- Manage accounts payable: process invoices, reconcile supplier statements, ensure suppliers are paid on time and resolve vendor queries within one working day
- Manage accounts receivable: allocate payments, follow up on outstanding accounts and support credit control
- Perform daily store reconciliations covering cash, card payments, POS transactions, refunds, returns and petty cash
- Complete bank and credit card reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
- Support month-end by importing store expenses, reconciling store cash accounts and assisting with financial reports
- Assist with VAT and tax compliance, including posting to the correct tax accounts and supporting tax returns and audits
- Keep records organised and audit-ready, and respond promptly to auditor queries
- Get involved in ad hoc finance projects as they come up
What you’ll bring
- A diploma or equivalent qualification in finance
- 2–5 years’ experience in a finance role
- Hands-on experience with an accounting system or ERP such as Xero, Zoho or QuickBooks
- A solid understanding of what makes a valid tax invoice
- Experience reconciling supplier and customer accounts
- Retail experience is a strong advantage
You’ll thrive here if you are
- Meticulous, accurate under pressure, and the kind of person who double-checks their numbers
- Good at problem solving: you dig into gaps, gather the facts and draw logical conclusions
- A clear, professional communicator in writing and in person
- Able to build good relationships with stores, suppliers and colleagues at every level
- Trustworthy, with high ethical standards
- Commercially minded, with an understanding of what drives profitability
What we offer
- Momentum Provident Fund contribution
- Your birthday off, on the house
- A clothing allowance plus a staff discount
- 4ForMe: 4 hours of personal time every quarter
- One work-from-home day per week
Pay: R16 000,00 - R18 000,00 per month
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Cape Town, Western Cape 7441: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
Application Question(s):
- What is your notice period?
Education:
- Diploma (Required)
Experience:
- Finance: 2 years (Preferred)
Work Location: In person
