Finance & Accounting Executive

About the role

The Finance & Accounting Executive will manage day-to-day accounting activities and support financial reporting, trade reconciliation and financial control. The role will work closely with management, traders and operations and is suitable for someone comfortable handling both routine accounting responsibilities and finance activities associated with a trading business.

Key responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Prepare and issue customer invoices and process supplier invoices.
• Monitor customer collections and follow up on outstanding receivables.
• Prepare supplier payments and maintain payment records.
• Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate accounting records.
• Record receipts, payments, expenses and other financial transactions.
• Support monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing.
• Prepare management accounts and periodic financial reports.
• Assist with cash-flow monitoring and short-term cash-flow forecasts.
• Maintain customer and supplier account reconciliations.

About you

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Relevant accounting or finance experience; experience in shipping, bunker trading, commodity trading or international trading is advantageous.
• Good knowledge of basic accounting principles, AP/AR and financial reporting.
• Comfortable handling both daily accounting activities and financial reporting.
• Strong numerical ability and attention to detail.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with accounting software is preferred.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a small and growing company.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Fluent in English and Mandarin.
