Finance and Accounting Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to oversee the company's accounting and financial operations. The position will be responsible for managing accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, monitoring internal controls, and supporting management in financial planning and decision-making.

The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial processes, excellent leadership skills, and experience handling accounting operations in a fast-paced business environment. Experience in logistics, freight forwarding, transportation, or related industries is an advantage.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounting Operations

• Oversee the company's daily accounting activities and ensure transactions are recorded accurately and on time.
• Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, collections, cash management, and general ledger activities.
• Review accounting entries, payment requests, invoices, receipts, and other financial documents.
• Ensure financial transactions are properly supported, approved, and recorded.
• Monitor customer balances, supplier accounts, advances, and other financial obligations.
• Review and approve accounting schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documents.

Financial Reporting

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Ensure financial statements and management reports are accurate and submitted within required deadlines.
• Analyze financial results and provide relevant information to management.
• Monitor revenue, expenses, cash flow, receivables, payables, and other key financial indicators.
• Assist management in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.

Compliance and Audit

• Ensure accounting activities comply with applicable Philippine accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, government agencies, and other relevant parties when necessary.
• Review and organize documents required for audits and regulatory submissions.
• Monitor tax-related requirements and coordinate with the appropriate personnel or external professionals.
• Ensure proper maintenance and filing of accounting records.

Internal Controls

• Develop and maintain effective accounting procedures and internal controls.
• Review existing processes and recommend improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency.
• Monitor compliance with established financial policies and procedures.
• Identify potential financial risks and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
• Ensure proper segregation of duties and authorization procedures within accounting operations.

Team Management

• Supervise, guide, and evaluate accounting staff.
• Assign tasks and establish priorities to ensure timely completion of accounting activities.
• Provide training and guidance to team members regarding accounting procedures and company policies.
• Review the performance and accuracy of accounting personnel.
• Promote professionalism, accountability, and confidentiality within the accounting team.

Logistics and Freight-Related Accounting

Oversee accounting activities related to freight, trucking, transportation, warehousing, and other logistics services.

• Review freight and trucking-related billings, expenses, and operational charges.
• Monitor customer billing and collection activities related to logistics transactions.
• Coordinate with Operations, Trucking, Purchasing, and other departments to verify financial information.
• Assist in reviewing transportation expenses, supplier charges, and other operational costs.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA license is an advantage.
• At least 5 years of relevant accounting experience, with previous supervisory or managerial experience preferred.
• Strong experience in financial reporting, general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and reconciliations.
• Knowledge of Philippine accounting standards and tax regulations.
• Experience with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to handle confidential financial information with professionalism and discretion.
• Experience in freight forwarding, logistics, transportation, trucking, or related industries is an advantage.
• Able to work independently and make sound decisions while meeting deadlines.

WORKING CONDITIONS
