Finance & Accounting Manager

We are currently looking for a Finance and Accounting Manager on behalf of our client who will lead finance and accounting activities , combining strong accounting expertise with hands-on involvement in daily operations. The role will work closely with the accounting team, taking an active role in financial closing, reporting, budgeting and forecasting, while resolving operational issues and strengthening internal controls. The successful candidate will collaborate with local departments and global finance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, support business decisions, and maintain compliance with Turkish regulations and global financial standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily finance and accounting operations, ensuring accurate records and timely completion of key activities.

• Take an active role in monthly and annual closing, including journal entries, accruals, provisions and account reconciliations.

• Prepare and review financial statements and group reporting packages in line with local requirements and global accounting standards.

• Work directly with the accounting team to investigate discrepancies, resolve operational issues and improve accounting accuracy.

• Manage budgeting and forecasting processes, analyse variances and provide clear insights to support business decisions.

• Oversee cash flow planning, payments and receivables, ensuring timely follow-up and effective working capital management.

• Monitor inventory valuation, landed costs and cost of goods sold in cooperation with relevant departments.

• Coordinate tax compliance and audit activities with internal teams and external advisers.

• Act as the main contact for global finance teams on reporting, financial performance and accounting matters.

• Strengthen internal controls, maintain appropriate approval processes and improve ERP workflows and data quality.

• Lead and develop the finance and accounting team, setting clear priorities and providing direct operational support when needed.

• Collaborate across departments to resolve issues, improve processes and support business growth.

Requirements

• Minimum 15 years experience in related field.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.

• Strong accounting background with progressive experience in finance and accounting, including team leadership.

• Proven experience personally managing closing activities, preparing financial reports and resolving accounting issues.

• Strong knowledge of Turkish accounting and tax requirements, IFRS and international group reporting.

• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and financial analysis.

• Willingness and ability to remain directly involved in daily operations within a lean and growing organisation.

• Experience in a multinational environment; retail, wholesale, e-commerce or import experience is preferred.

• Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel, with strong analytical and data validation skills.

• Strong ownership, attention to detail and the ability to prioritise competing deadlines.

• Constructive communication and people management skills, with a collaborative approach to problem-solving.

• Professional proficiency in English to communicate effectively with global stakeholders.

• SMMM qualification is preferred.
