Finance & Business Systems Manager

About the role

Are you a numbers person who loves systems, or a systems geek who completely understands financial ledgers? This isn't your traditional back-office finance role.

We're looking for someone who loves getting things organised, improving processes and making systems work better.

This is a newly adapted role within Ocean Shell, Fiordland Souvenirs and Lumea, reporting directly to the owner and sitting on our Senior Leadership Team.

You'll take ownership of our finance function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, GST and management reporting, while helping lead the next stage of our business growth.

Over the next 12 months, you'll play a key role in migrating us from MYOB Exo to a modern cloud-based business platform, improving how data, systems and information flow across the business.

This role is ideal for someone who knows finance but gets excited by:

• Improving systems and processes
• Cleaning up data and creating order
• Implementing new technology
• Automating repetitive tasks
• Using AI to work smarter
• Leading projects and making things happen

What you'll bring:

• Finance, accounting or business administration experience
• Strong attention to detail
• Good systems and technology skills
• A practical, improvement-focused mindset
• The ability to work independently and lead change
• Experience with inventory businesses, ERP systems, Xero, Shopify, Microsoft 365 or AI tools
