Finance & Operations Director

A globally listed, multi-billion-euro distribution group, with an established platform in Bangkok and a growing footprint across Southeast Asia, is creating a newly established Finance & Operations Director role for its Thailand business — built specifically for someone who has run finance inside a chemicals, industrial materials, or global trading/distribution business, and who has sat through a transaction from due diligence to close, not just the integration that follows.

This is a newly created position, not a backfill, owning Finance and Operations end-to-end while leading the group's live M&A integration work in Thailand.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Thailand Managing Director, with a close working relationship to regional Finance leadership, you will:

• Provide financial due diligence input on acquisition targets ahead of deal close, working alongside regional M&A/corporate development on financial risk, deal structure, and integration readiness
• Own the end-to-end integration of newly acquired entities post-close — finance systems, processes, controls and people brought onto the group's operating model
• Lead the finance integration of the business's current acquisition, with further transactions expected as the group continues to expand in the region
• Own financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and monthly/quarterly reporting for the Thailand business and its newly integrated operations
• Take direct responsibility for Operations: inventory management, supply chain, logistics and customer service, working closely with the commercial team
• Maintain and strengthen financial controls, tax compliance, and audit governance across a larger, more complex organization
• Act as a genuine business partner and right hand to the Managing Director, with influence that extends beyond the finance function
• Manage relationships with banks, auditors, tax authorities and other external stakeholders in Thailand

What You Bring

• 15+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, ideally including time with a Big 4 firm and within a multinational or listed-company environment
• A background in chemicals, industrial materials, or a global trading/distribution business — this is a genuine requirement for this role, not a preference
• Proven, hands-on experience across the full M&A lifecycle — due diligence and deal support through to post-merger integration; integration-only experience will not be a fit
• Strong command of IFRS and Thai tax/statutory reporting requirements
• A hands-on, adaptable style — this is a still-consolidating environment, not a steady-state operation
• Willingness to travel regularly between two Bangkok office locations during the integration period
• Excellent English communication skills and the stakeholder management range to operate credibly with local and regional leadership
