Finance and Valuation VA

VA+ is looking for a highly analytical Finance and Valuation VA to support a U.S.-based client with business valuation, financial modeling, forecasting, and financial analysis.

This is not a general administrative VA position. We are looking for someone with strong financial and analytical skills who can understand what the numbers mean, identify inconsistencies, ask thoughtful questions, and work through financial models with limited hand-holding.

Responsibilities

• Support business valuation projects and financial analysis
• Build and maintain financial models, forecasts, and projections
• Review and analyze P&Ls, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
• Normalize financial statements and identify potential EBITDA adjustments and add-backs
• Calculate and analyze financial ratios and business KPIs
• Build valuation models using multiple methodologies
• Conduct comparable company and industry research
• Perform scenario and sensitivity analysis
• Analyze cash flow and working capital
• Prepare financial summaries, charts, and supporting materials for client deliverables
• Organize financial data for valuation, due diligence, and Quality of Earnings preparation
• Maintain valuation templates, financial models, and financial databases
• Review financial information for inconsistencies and unusual items
• Communicate financial findings, questions, and observations clearly

Requirements

• Background in Finance, Accounting, FP&A, Business Valuation, Investment Banking, Private Equity, Transaction Advisory, or a similar analytical field
• Demonstrated experience building and working with financial models
• Strong Excel and/or Google Sheets skills
• Strong understanding of financial statements and business performance
• Ability to analyze and interpret financial data rather than simply enter numbers
• Understanding of financial ratios, KPIs, cash flow, and profitability
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
• Availability for 40 hours per week during assigned U.S. business hours

Preferred Qualifications

• Business valuation experience
• Quality of Earnings experience
• Financial due diligence experience
• Experience identifying EBITDA adjustments or add-backs
• Comparable company analysis experience
• Experience with QuickBooks or other accounting platforms
• CRM experience
• Experience preparing client-facing financial reports and presentations

Tools and Software

Strong Excel and/or Google Sheets skills are required.

Experience with QuickBooks, CRM systems, financial modeling platforms, Google Workspace, or Microsoft Office is a plus.

What We Want to See

Candidates must be able to demonstrate actual financial modeling experience.
