Finance Assistant / Cashier

About the role

This role involves cashiering, collections, and finance & accounting support for an automotive dealership. You will receive and process payments from customers using various payment methods, maintain accurate financial records, and ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process payments from customers, including cash, checks, bank transfers, and other approved payment methods
• Issue official receipts, acknowledgement receipts, and other required payment documents
• Verify payment amounts and ensure accurate recording of all transactions
• Maintain proper custody and security of cash and other financial instruments
• Prepare daily cash collection reports and cash count reports
• Perform daily cash reconciliation and immediately report any discrepancies
• Prepare cash and check deposits and coordinate with the bank as required
• Assist in recording daily financial transactions and maintaining accurate accounting records
• Process payments related to vehicle sales, parts, service, accessories, and other dealership transactions
• Coordinate with Sales, Parts, Service, and Accounting regarding customer payments and account balances

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred
• At least 1 year of experience in cashiering, accounting, finance, or related work
• Experience in an automotive dealership is an advantage
• Experience handling cash, checks, bank transactions, and customer payments
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial procedures
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Good communication and customer service skills
