Finance Assistant

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure accurate and timely capturing of cashbook transactions and posting of general ledger journals in accordance with established accounting policies.
• Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations as well as balance sheet reconciliations to guarantee financial accuracy.
• Assist in preparing monthly management accounts by supplying financial data, schedules, and general ledger analysis.
• Help compile annual budgets by preparing supporting schedules and checking the accuracy of budget inputs.
• Prepare VAT calculations and submit VAT returns within prescribed deadlines in compliance with tax legislation.
• Provide records, schedules, and supporting documentation to internal and external auditors.
• Maintain and update the fixed asset register to ensure accurate asset control and reporting.
• Prepare additional financial reports and data as required by management.

Requirements & Skills:

• Diploma in Financial Accounting or an equivalent relevant qualification.
• Minimum of three years of relevant experience in a finance or accounting environment.
• Working knowledge of accounting software packages and financial management systems.
• Strong computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Excellent time management and resilience to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment to data integrity.
