UK & Ireland 2028 Limited is the local organising committee responsible for delivering UEFA EURO 2028 across the UK & Ireland. We work on behalf of the five Football Associations and in partnership with governments, host cities, stadiums and delivery partners to plan and deliver the tournament safely, inclusively and to world-class standards.

About UEFA EURO 2028

UEFA EURO is one of the world’s largest sporting events. In 2028, it will be hosted across multiple cities in the UK & Ireland, requiring large-scale coordination across transport, infrastructure, stadiums and public services. UEFA owns the tournament and sets requirements; UK & Ireland 2028 Limited is responsible for delivering it locally.

The Role

The Finance Assistant is a key role in ensuring efficient and effective day to day finance services through processing and maintaining financial transactions to ensure accuracy and integrity across all records. This role will manage all elements of the purchase ledger and sales ledger and maintain core cash management functions.

What you’ll be doing

• Provide operational finance support through ownership of the purchase ledger, sales ledger and cash book for the business.
• Processing supplier invoices/credit notes and ensuring timely payments.
• Processing customer invoices/credit notes and track incoming funding.
• Manage the expenses processes and ensure adherence to company policy.
• Maintain financial records and ensure financial data is recorded to a high standard.
• Perform key reconciliations e.g. bank and supplier recs to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
• Support the Finance Manager with maintenance of financial systems and other key activities.
• Identify opportunities for process efficiency and implement solutions to support scaling of the business.
• Provide assistance to the wider finance team.
• Executes additional tasks as required in order to meet the changing priorities.
• Collaborate with the wider finance and operational teams to ensure cohesive support across departments.

What we’re looking for

• Previous transactional finance experience.
• Ability to work independently with appropriate guidance.
• Ownership of end-to-end transactional process (e.g. Purchase to Pay).
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills with specialisation in Excel functions.
• High level of numeracy.
• Strong communication skills.

Location & Working Pattern

Based at Wembley Stadium, with travel across the UK & Ireland as required.

• 2027: Minimum 3 days a week onsite
• 2028: Full-time onsite during tournament delivery
