This is an exciting opportunity for an organised, adaptable, and proactive individual with general administration or finance skills to support our Business Support Team.

You do not need to have worked in a school before, what matters most is that you are a quick learner and good communicator who enjoys working as part of a team in a fast paced environment. You will have the ability to work accurately to deadlines, and a desire to make a positive contribution to the smooth running of our school and the wider experience of our students.

We are a small, specialist school based in the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames. Our students have social, emotional, and mental health needs, and our whole-school approach is built around supporting them to thrive academically and personally. Working here means joining a close-knit and committed staff team who genuinely care about the young people they work with. If you are looking for a role where you will be valued and where the work you do truly matters, we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To support the Finance Team in the day to day financial operations of the school, including but not limited to purchase order, invoice, and payment processing; activity and event bookings; supporting with colleague claims and financial queries; finance-related Free School Meal administration; sales invoices; maintaining up to date and accurate financial records; providing accurate, timely, and efficient

administrative and transactional finance and project support to the school’s senior

leadership team and its Governing Body.

  • To Deputise for the Finance Officer, as directed.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience of working within a busy environment, providing general administration / finance support;
  • Knowledge of office systems and IT applications, including MS Office including Excel and/or Google Sheets;
  • Experience of managing competing demands and priorities, working to tight deadlines;
  • Experience of dealing with people face to face, over the phone, and in written format, able to deal with sensitive and confidential information in a professional manner.

We encourage you to visit our website (www.maldenoaks.org) to find out more about our school, our students, and the difference our staff make every day.

If you are a proactive, solution-focused individual and would enjoy helping us to improve outcomes for young people, we would welcome your application.

Malden Oaks is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. All new staff will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check and carry out safeguarding training. Please read our full safeguarding policy, which can be downloaded from our website.
