Finance Assistant Manager

The Finance Assistant Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing key accounting and financial reporting functions, ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timely preparation of financial information. The position provides leadership and supervision to the Finance and Accounting team and serves as a key support to the Finance Manager in financial reporting, month-end closing, budgeting, analysis, internal controls, and other finance-related activities. The position requires a well-rounded accounting and finance professional with strong experience across general accounting, financial reporting, account reconciliation, month-end closing, budgeting, analysis, and internal controls, aswell as hands-on experience with SAP.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Reporting & Analysis

• Oversee the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Review Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, and other financial reports for accuracy and completeness.
• Analyze financial results, significant variances, trends, and unusual account movements.
• Prepare management reports and provide meaningful financial insights to management.
• Ensure timely and accurate submission of financial reports in accordance with company deadlines.
• Review supporting schedules and ensure all reported balances are properly substantiated.

SAP & Accounting Systems

• Utilize SAP in performing and reviewing accounting and financial reporting transactions.
• Review SAP postings and ensure transactions are properly recorded and classified.
• Monitor the accuracy and integrity of financial data generated from SAP.
• Coordinate with relevant departments or system support teams in resolving SAP-related accounting issues.
• Assist in improving accounting processes and system controls.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Cash Flow

• Assist the Finance Manager in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
• Monitor actual results against budget and provide variance analysis.
• Assist in cash flow planning, forecasting, and monitoring.
• Provide financial information and analysis to support management decision-making.

Internal Controls & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting procedures, and internal controls.
• Identify control gaps and recommend improvements to accounting and finance processes.
• Support internal and external audits by providing required schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documents.
• Ensure proper documentation and retention of accounting records.

Other Finance Functions

• Assist the Finance Manager in the implementation and improvement of finance policies and procedures.
• Participate in process improvement and automation initiatives.
• Perform other finance and accounting-related duties and special projects assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience in Accounting and Finance.
• At least 5 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
• Hands-on SAP experience is required.
• Strong knowledge of P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, General Ledger, account reconciliation, accruals, and financial analysis.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong leadership, communication, and people-management skills.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work under tight deadlines.
• CPA license is an advantage but not required.
