What they need

Finance Associate - Falconsage LLPAbout the role

Falconsage LLP is hiring a Finance Associate to run end-to-end finance for our US and Indian start-up clients: accounting at the core, with FP&A, start-up finance and corporate finance layered on top. Founded in 2023 by experienced CXOs, Falconsage is a finance, legal and HR consultancy serving 15+ early-stage and cross-border companies across 5 countries in AI, SaaS and software.

Roughly 70% of the role is hands-on accounting: closing books, running compliance and building clean, diligence-ready financials. The remaining 30% is where you grow: budgets, forecasts, financial models, fundraising support and corporate-finance advisory alongside our finance partners. Direct founder exposure and a clear path into controllership and virtual-CFO work.

What you will do

Accounting and compliance (core)

  • Own monthly close for a portfolio of US and Indian client entities: bank and card postings, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, intercompany and reconciliations
  • Maintain books under US GAAP in QuickBooks Online / Xero, and under Ind AS or Indian GAAP in Tally or Zoho Books
  • Run AP and AR cycles: vendor bills, customer invoicing, collections follow-up and ageing reports
  • Prepare monthly MIS, provisional financial statements and variance commentary for founders
  • Support US compliance: payroll reconciliations (941, W-2, 1099), sales-tax nexus analysis, franchise and estimated tax workings, Form 5471/5472 inputs
  • Support Indian compliance: TDS, GST, year-end audit schedules and ITR inputs
  • Prepare consolidated US–India financials and transfer-pricing workings with the finance partners
  • Clean up and realign historic books ahead of fundraising or M&A diligence
  • Build and maintain chart-of-accounts, SOPs and month-end checklists; coordinate with auditors, CPAs and client teams

FP&A, start-up and corporate finance

  • Build and maintain annual operating plans, budgets, rolling forecasts and budget-vs-actual reviews
  • Maintain financial models: revenue, burn, runway, unit economics and scenario analysis for founders and investors
  • Track SaaS and start-up KPIs (ARR, churn, CAC, gross margin) and turn them into board and investor reporting
  • Support fundraising: data-room preparation, investor Q&A, cap-table and ESOP workings
  • Assist on corporate-finance work: transaction advisory, valuation inputs, term-sheet analysis and new-market-entry costing

What we are looking for

Must have

  • CA, CA Inter, CMA, or M.Com / MBA (Finance) with 4–7 years of hands-on accounting experience
  • Strong command of accounting fundamentals: accrual accounting, revenue recognition, reconciliations and full monthly close
  • Proven ownership of books for multiple entities, ideally in an outsourced accounting, KPO or CA-firm environment
  • Advanced Excel / Google Sheets (lookups, pivots, data cleanup) and fluency in at least one cloud accounting platform (QuickBooks Online, Xero, Zoho Books or Tally)
  • Clear written English; comfortable with US client calls in evening IST hours (overlap up to roughly 9 pm IST)

Strongly preferred

  • 2+ years working on US books under US GAAP for US clients or a US-headquartered employer
  • Exposure to US payroll providers (Gusto, Rippling, ADP), sales tax (Avalara, TaxJar) and bill-pay tools (Bill.com, Ramp, Brex)
  • Familiarity with US entity structures (Delaware C-Corp with Indian subsidiary), Forms 1099, 5471/5472 and franchise tax
  • US CPA / EA (completed or in progress) is a plus

Who thrives here

  • Detail-obsessed, deadline-driven and comfortable juggling 6–10 client entities
  • Proactive communicator who flags issues early rather than at month-end
  • Curious about start-ups and keen to grow into controllership and virtual-CFO work

Compensation, location and how to apply

  • CTC: up to INR 12 LPA, depending on experience and depth of US accounting exposure
  • Location: Bengaluru preferred; remote within India considered for strong US-accounting candidates
  • Type: Full-time; evening overlap with US clients expected a few days a week
  • Reports to: Finance Partner, Falconsage LLP
  • Growth: direct path to Controller and virtual-CFO engagements across US and Indian start-ups

To apply: email your CV to [email protected] with the subject line "Finance Associate". Add two lines on the US or multi-entity books you have owned and the tools you used.
