Finance Checker

JOB SCOPE

Document verification

• Check supplier invoices, purchase orders, delivery orders, and payment vouchers for accuracy and completeness (3-way matching)
• Verify that amounts, tax (e.g. SST), account codes, and supporting documents are correct
• Confirm proper approvals and authorization before payments are processed

Accounting and reconciliation

• Review journal entries, accruals, and posting to the general ledger
• Assist in bank, supplier, and inter-company reconciliations
• Follow up on and resolve discrepancies, variances, and outstanding items

Payment and compliance checks

• Verify payment batches and bank details before release
• Ensure transactions follow company policy, internal controls, and statutory requirements
• Check expense claims and petty cash against policy

Reporting and support

• Prepare checking reports and highlight errors or irregularities
• Support month-end and year-end closing
• Provide documents to internal and external auditors
• Maintain organised filing and audit trails

REQUIREMENTS

Education and experience

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (or an accounting qualification)
• 1 to 3 years of experience in accounts payable, accounts, or auditing (fresh graduates are sometimes considered for junior roles)

Skills

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good knowledge of accounting principles and basic taxation (SST, withholding tax)
• Proficient in MS Excel, experience with accounting software is an advantage
• Good organisation and time management, able to meet deadlines
• Clear communication, since the role involves coordinating with other departments and suppliers
• Integrity and confidentiality when handling financial data

Pay: RM2,400.00 - RM2,600.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Petaling Jaya: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
