What they need

Top Cut Foods is Australia’s national specialist butcher, supplying premium meat products to foodservice, hospitality, healthcare, education and institutional customers across the country.

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable & Receipting Administrator to join our Finance team on a 3-month temporary contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounts receivable professional to contribute to a busy, fast-paced finance function supporting our national operations.

About the Role

Reporting to the Finance team, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely administration of accounts receivable, customer payments, receipting, banking and credit control activities.

You will play an important role in ensuring customer payments are correctly allocated, outstanding accounts are actively monitored and followed up, and financial records and reporting remain accurate and up to date.

Working closely with the wider Finance and Credit team, you will also provide general finance administration support, assist with reconciliations and reporting, and provide relief support during periods of staff leave.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and accurately receipt customer payments, ensuring timely allocation to the correct customer accounts.
  • Complete daily banking activities and maintain accurate records of receipts and payments.
  • Monitor accounts receivable balances and proactively follow up overdue accounts in line with established procedures.
  • Assist with credit control activities, including customer account queries, payment follow-ups and account maintenance.
  • Perform account reconciliations, investigate discrepancies and resolve outstanding issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, reports and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with cash flow monitoring and accounts receivable reporting.
  • Respond to internal and external queries relating to customer payments, account balances and outstanding invoices.
  • Provide general administrative support to the Finance and Credit team, including relief coverage during periods of staff leave.
  • Identify and follow up outstanding matters to ensure deadlines and service expectations are met.

About You

You are a reliable and proactive finance professional who enjoys working with numbers, maintaining accurate records and ensuring tasks are completed within required timeframes. You are comfortable managing competing priorities and communicating with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience in accounts receivable, receipting, credit control or a similar finance administration role.
  • Strong numerical skills and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience processing customer payments, allocating receipts and reconciling accounts.
  • Well-developed organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing deadlines.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills, including confidence following up outstanding payments.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and resolving account discrepancies.
  • Competent computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and experience using finance or ERP systems.
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a team while taking ownership of your responsibilities.

Why Join Us?

  • Immediate impact: Make a valuable contribution to a busy national Finance team.
  • Variety: Work across accounts receivable, receipting, credit control and broader finance administration.
  • Short-term opportunity: Gain valuable experience through a 3-month temporary contract.
  • Team environment: Work alongside a supportive Finance and Credit team in an established Australian food business.
