Finance Controller

The Finance Controller role leads financial planning, business controlling, cost management, and reporting for a newly established manufacturing operation in Hanoi. The position plays a central part in developing the finance function, strengthening financial controls, and providing the analysis required to support operational and strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities to support business objectives
• Prepare and analyse monthly management reports, financial performance reports, and variance analyses
• Monitor manufacturing costs, inventory movements, and operating expenses to improve profitability and efficiency
• Partner with production and operational teams to establish key performance indicators and identify cost optimisation opportunities
• Develop and maintain effective financial controls, policies, and reporting procedures
• Support strategic planning, investment evaluation, and management decision-making through financial analysis
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies
• Coordinate with auditors, tax advisers, and external stakeholders as required
• Drive continuous improvement across finance processes, systems, and reporting capabilities
• Lead, coach, and develop finance team members to support the achievement of business objectives

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Auditing, or a related field

• At least 6 years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, auditing, or financial controlling, including at least 3 years as a finance controller supporting manufacturing or factory operations

• Strong knowledge of management accounting, costing, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis

• Solid understanding of manufacturing finance, inventory management, and factory cost structures

• Experience preparing management reports and supporting business decision-making

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and business partnering skills

• Good command of English for business communication and reporting

• Proactive and hands-on approach, with the ability to work independently in a fast-growing environment

• Preferred qualifications:

• Experience supporting factory establishment, plant expansion, or greenfield manufacturing projects

• Background in a Big Four firm, consulting firm, or multinational manufacturing company

• Experience implementing enterprise resource planning systems, financial controls, or process improvement initiatives

• Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CMA, or an equivalent qualification
