Job Title:

• Financial Controller (Fractional Controller Services) US

Work Setup & Schedule:

• Hybrid
• 4:00 AM to 1:00 PM
• Required onsite during monthly/quarterly team meetings and when required by the manager/client

What you’ll be doing:

• Financial Management & Reporting

  • Create, review, and oversee accounting transactions and journal entries throughout the full accounting cycle, including general ledger management, account reconciliations, and month end and year-end close activities.
  • Ensure the integrity of financial records and the consistent application of accounting policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Identify and resolve complex accounting issues and provide guidance, review, and support to accounting team members as needed.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant accounting operations and financial records.

• Transaction Production & Oversight

  • Oversee the processing, review, and quality control of accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and benefits-related transactions.
  • Ensure transactions are accurately recorded, approved, and processed in accordance with established policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Monitor transaction workflows to ensure completeness, timeliness, and compliance with operational and reporting requirements.
  • Support the continuous improvement and automation of transactional accounting processes.

• Payroll & Benefits

  • Oversee and support the full payroll cycle, including payroll processing, reconciliations, reporting, and benefits contributions.
  • Ensure payroll and benefits records are accurate, timely, and compliant with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Coordinate with payroll providers, benefits administrators, and other third-party service providers as required.

• Other

  • Review and support compliance with insurance, worker’s compensation, health insurance, retirement plans, and income taxes from an assistance perspective.

• Non- Negotiable Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience in a Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, or similar leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and U.S.-based accounting practices.
  • Experience providing advisory services to multiple clients or working in a public accounting environment is highly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online and cloud-based accounting systems.
  • Excellent communication, client management, and presentation skills.
  • Experience with U.S. practices, laws, and procedures for book-keeping, financial management and reporting, transaction oversight, budgeting, forecasting and planning, and cash flow and working capital management

• Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA designation preferred
  • Experience with Clio or other legal practice management software
  • Maintain a professional image and appearance appropriate for the financial services industry
  • Exposure to AI, automation, or digital transformation initiatives in finance, accounting, or business operations is an advantage
  • Enthusiasm for learning and applying AI-powered tools and emerging technologies to improve client outcomes, operational efficiency, and decision-making
  • Excellent business writing and documentation skills
