What they need
We believe the future is increasingly shaped by how well we understand and care for plants.
In controlled environments, precision matters. Small shifts in nutrients, moisture, temperature and pH can influence what thrives and what doesn’t.
At Bluelab, we design simple, dependable tools that help growers measure what matters and make confident decisions about what comes next.
As our next Finance Coordinator, your work will contribute to the clarity and confidence growers rely on every day.
What you’ll help make happen
In this role, you’ll help keep the financial processes behind our global business running accurately, reliably and on time.
You’ll manage the delivery and review of payroll across our international workforce, working with external providers and internal teams to make sure people are paid correctly. Alongside this, you’ll look after core transactional finance processes across our Bluelab entities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, expenses and month-end activities.
The result is accurate financial information, reliable payroll and well-managed processes that our employees, suppliers, customers and wider business can depend on.
What your days might look like
This is a hands-on role with a steady rhythm of recurring deadlines, mixed with the problem-solving that comes from working across different entities, countries and systems. You’ll need to be comfortable managing the detail while keeping sight of what needs to happen next.
You might be:
coordinating payroll inputs and timelines across New Zealand and our international teams
reviewing payroll outputs from external providers and working through discrepancies before final approval
managing supplier invoices, payment processes and account reconciliations
monitoring customer accounts and following up overdue balances
completing bank, expense and company credit card reconciliations
preparing GST returns, journals, reconciliations and routine month-end reporting
working with others to resolve issues and improve the accuracy, consistency and efficiency of Finance processes
The kind of person who thrives here
You’ll bring practical experience across payroll and transactional finance, with a sound understanding of the controls and accuracy these processes require. Experience working across multiple entities, jurisdictions or external payroll providers would be particularly useful.
You’re organised and comfortable working across several recurring deadlines without losing track of the details. You check your work carefully, investigate discrepancies and follow issues through rather than allowing them to sit unresolved.
You’re also able to use good judgement. You can work confidently within established policies and processes, develop a sensible recommendation when something is unclear and recognise when a decision needs to be escalated.
Because this role works with employees, customers, suppliers and external providers, you’ll communicate in a way that is clear, helpful and appropriate to the audience. You’ll understand the importance of confidentiality and handle sensitive payroll, employee and financial information with care.
A relevant finance or accounting qualification would be useful, but equivalent practical experience is equally valuable.
The environment you’ll step into
You’ll be stepping into an environment where people care about the work – and about each other.
Collaboration is part of how we operate. We share knowledge, support each other when things get busy, and work through challenges together rather than in isolation. There’s an openness to asking questions, offering help, and learning from one another over time.
That human connection sits alongside a strong sense of responsibility for what we build and the role it plays in the real world. The link between our work and the growers who rely on it is never far away.
People who do well here tend to take ownership of their work, focus on what matters, and follow things through. We value practical thinking, steady progress, and the willingness to improve how things are done – not for the sake of change, but to make things better.
If you’re looking for work that has real-world relevance and want to build capability through meaningful contribution, we’d love to hear from you.
