Finance Director

Job Summary

This position oversees all financial operations of the city, ensuring fiscal stability, regulatory compliance, and transparent stewardship of public funds. Leads budgeting, financial planning, accounting, and financial reporting while advising elected officials and department heads on the City’s financial position.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

· Principles of management, supervision, planning, budgeting, general and governmental accounting, and governmental finance.

· Cash management and budgeting.

· GAAP, GASB, and public-sector financial regulations.

· Communicating with executives on matters requiring explanation and discussion.

· Presenting data that may influence important decisions to the public.

Education & Experience:

· A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

· Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business management, public administration, or related field is required.

· CPA, CPFO, CGFM or similar credentials strongly preferred.

· Extensive experience in governmental finance, budgeting, or accounting, ideally within a municipal environment.

Special Requirements:

• A one-year probationary period. Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening, physical, and criminal background check is required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $94,000.00 - $142,000.00 per year
