A highly respected architectural practice is seeking a Finance Director to help shape the future of the firm. This is more than a traditional accounting leadership role. You'll serve as a strategic partner to executive leadership while guiding the financial direction of a firm known for delivering impactful projects throughout Northern California.

This opportunity is ideal for a Controller, Director of Finance, or senior accounting and finance leader ready to step into a broader business leadership role with long-term growth potential.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead the firm's budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and financial strategy
• Partner with Principals and executive leadership on key business decisions
• Drive project profitability through fee analysis, resource planning, billing optimization, and project finance
• Develop meaningful KPIs, dashboards, and financial insights that support project and firm performance
• Oversee financial reporting, audits, tax compliance, internal controls, and monthly close processes
• Improve systems, processes, and reporting infrastructure
• Help ensure the firm balances creative excellence with financial discipline

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience
• Strong foundation in GAAP, reporting, audit, tax, and internal controls
• Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, FP&A, and cash management
• Ability to communicate financial concepts to both financial and non-financial stakeholders
• Experience in architecture, engineering, construction, consulting, or other project-based professional services environments is highly desirable
• Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint or similar project accounting platforms is a plus

💰 $190,000 - $230,000 base + bonus/profit-sharing potential
