Job Title: Finance Executive / Senior Finance Executive

Location: Subang/Shah Alam, Selangor

Reports to: Finance Manager / Managing Director

Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to oversee the full set of accounts and financial operations. This role is pivotal in maintaining financial integrity across our retail outlets, ensuring compliance with MFRS/IFRS, and driving operational discipline through rigorous inventory control and monthly reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Full Set Accounts & Reporting: Manage the full cycle of accounting, including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Fixed Assets, etc.

• Monthly Closing & Analysis: Execute timely month-end and year-end closing processes. Prepare accurate monthly management reports, financial statements, and variance analysis against budgets.

• Inventory & Stock Management:

  • Oversee and coordinate physical stocktakes at retail outlets, including outstation travel to conduct site verifications.
  • Reconcile physical stock counts against system records, investigate discrepancies, and implement corrective controls to minimize shrinkage.

• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all financial reporting adheres strictly to MFRS/IFRS and local statutory requirements.

• Audit Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and tax agents, ensuring all documentation is organized and compliant with internal control frameworks.

• Process Improvement: Assist in the documentation and enforcement of internal financial controls to improve operational efficiency across the retail group.

• Ad-hoc Assignments: Undertake any other duties, projects, or analytical tasks as assigned by management to support business operations and strategic decision-making.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 2+ years of working experience in Finance or Accounting.

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional qualifications (ACCA/CPA/MIA) or progress towards them is highly preferred.

• Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of MFRS/IFRS, especially on MFRS16 and MFRS15 and Malaysian tax regulations. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (e.g., Autocount, SAP, SQL, or similar) is essential.

• Key Attributes:

  • Meticulous with a strong analytical mindset.
  • Ability to travel for outstation stocktakes as required by the business.
  • Added Advantage: Previous experience in external or internal audit.
  • Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with outlet managers and stakeholders.
