FINANCE EXECUTIVE

About the role

This role involves supporting the Finance Manager in preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports, managing budgeting and forecasting activities, overseeing daily accounting operations, and assisting with government applications and compliance requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Finance Manager in preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports
• Prepare monthly financial analysis, including budget vs. actual, revenue, gross profit, cost and expense variances
• Prepare management reports, schedules, analysis and presentation materials for management review
• Monitor key financial and operational indicators and highlight significant variances or unusual movements
• Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts
• Consolidate budget information from various departments and prepare budget schedules
• Monitor actual performance against budget and follow up on significant variances
• Assist in preparing cash flow forecasts and financial projections
• Assist the Finance Manager in overseeing daily accounting operations and month-end closing
• Assist in preparing and coordinating applications and submissions to government agencies and relevant authorities

About you

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field
• Preferably 3–5 years of relevant working experience in accounting, finance, management reporting or a related role
• Good knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, SUMIFS, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP and basic data analysis
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with different departments and external parties
• Able to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Responsible, proactive and willing to take ownership of assigned tasks
• Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia
• Experience with accounting software / ERP systems is preferred
