Finance Executive – Commodity Trading

We are a Singapore-based international trading group involved in mineral resources, battery materials, recycling, commodity trading, and related industrial businesses across Asia.

We are seeking a hands-on, commercially minded, and detail-oriented Trading Accountant to support our growing regional operations.

The ideal candidate should possess strong accounting fundamentals, good operational discipline, and preferably exposure to trading, shipping, logistics, or cross-border commercial transactions.

This role will work closely with management and operations teams to support day-to-day financial activities, payment controls, reconciliations, trade-related transactions, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle full set accounting and month-end closing
• Manage accounts payable and receivable functions
• Monitor supplier payments and transaction reconciliations
• Review invoices, supporting documents, and payment instructions
• Support trade finance and banking documentation where required
• Coordinate with operations, logistics, suppliers, and external parties
• Monitor cash flow and payment schedules
• Assist in preparation of management reports and financial analysis
• Liaise with auditors, tax agents, and banks
• Support internal controls, process improvements, and compliance matters
• Assist with regional and cross-border business transactions

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience
• Strong Excel and reconciliation skills
• Responsible, organized, and able to work independently
• Strong attention to detail and follow-up ability
• Good communication and coordination skills
• Bilingual in English and Mandarin is a must due to communication with regional stakeholders and business counterparts

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in commodity trading, shipping, logistics, manufacturing, or related industries
• Exposure to trade finance / LC documentation
• Familiarity with import/export or shipping documents
• Experience working in SME or fast-paced business environments
