Role summary

The Finance Head leads the finance and accounting team and is accountable for the accuracy of the company's books, the handling of client and company funds, and compliance with tax and regulatory requirements. The role gives management the financial information it needs to make decisions.

Key responsibilities

Financial reporting and control

• Lead the monthly, quarterly and year-end closing, and review and sign off on the financial statements.
• Prepare management reports covering brokerage income, expenses, cash position and receivables and payables aging.
• Lead the annual budget and periodic forecasts, and report actual results against budget.
• Design and enforce internal controls over collections, disbursements, approvals and bank accounts.

Treasury and reinsurance accounts

• Oversee premium collections from cedants and remittances to reinsurers, including foreign currency payments.
• Oversee claims collections from reinsurers and settlement to cedants.
• Make sure client and reinsurer balances are reconciled regularly and that unallocated or long-outstanding items are resolved.

Compliance and audit

• Make sure tax filings and are accurate and on time.
• Oversee regulatory and corporate reporting to the Insurance Commission and the Securities and Exchange Commission.
• Act as the main contact for external auditors, and see audit findings through to resolution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy; Certified Public Accountant.
• At least 7 to 10 years of finance and accounting experience, with at least 3 years leading a team.
• Experience in reinsurance, reinsurance broking or insurance is a plus, especially premium and claims accounting and client-money handling.
• Strong knowledge of Philippine Financial Reporting Standards, tax rules and statutory reporting.
• Experience with budgeting, cash management, foreign currency transactions and external audits.
• Proficient in advanced MS Excel.
• High integrity, sound judgment, and the ability to explain financial matters clearly to management.

Pay: Php100,000.00 - Php160,000.00 per month
