Finance Intern - 6 Months

Role & responsibilities

Accounting Support

• Assist in day-to-day accounting activities, including journal entries, invoice processing, and account reconciliations.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Verify financial transactions and maintain accurate accounting records.
• Assist in accounts payable and accounts receivable tracking.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

Financial Reporting

• Generate and maintain regular financial reports, dashboards, and management information reports (MIS).
• Compile financial data from multiple sources and prepare reports for management review.
• Analyze variances between actual and budgeted numbers and highlight key observations.
• Support preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial performance reports.
• Maintain reporting templates and improve reporting efficiency wherever possible.

Forecasting & Analysis

• Assist in preparing financial forecasts, budgets, and business projections.
• Collect, organize, and analyze historical financial data to support forecasting models.
• Support scenario analysis and trend analysis for business planning.
• Monitor key financial metrics and identify risks or opportunities impacting business performance.
• Assist senior team members in financial planning and forecasting exercises.

Data Management & Process Improvement

• Maintain financial databases and ensure data accuracy.
• Support automation and process improvement initiatives within the finance function.
• Prepare ad-hoc financial analyses and presentations as required.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in:

• Finance

• Accounting

• Commerce

• Business Administration

• Economics or related field

Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
• Good knowledge of financial statements and reporting concepts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, charts).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.) is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other reporting tools is a plus.
