Finance Manager - 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

We are seeking an experienced CA-qualified Finance Manager to join a well-established New Zealand Rental Car business on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Leading a small finance team, you will take ownership of financial reporting, compliance, planning, controls, and business performance analysis while partnering closely with senior leaders across the organisation

About the Role

This is a broad and varied position that combines technical financial leadership with commercial business partnering responsibilities.

Key areas of focus include:

• Leading month-end, quarter-end and year-end reporting processes.
• Preparing and reviewing management accounts and statutory financial statements.
• Managing taxation obligations including GST, FBT, PAYE and income tax compliance.
• Driving budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.
• Providing commercial analysis, performance insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Managing external audit requirements and supporting governance and risk activities.
• Maintaining robust financial controls, policies and processes.
• Leading, mentoring and developing a high-performing finance team.
• Identifying process improvements and supporting system and operational enhancements.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• CA or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
• Proven experience in a Finance Manager or Senior Finance leadership position.
• Strong financial reporting and statutory accounting expertise.
• Deep understanding of New Zealand taxation requirements and financial controls.
• Experience leading and developing finance teams.
• Excellent commercial acumen and the ability to translate financial data into meaningful business insights.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• A proactive, hands-on approach with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Advanced systems capability, with exposure to SAP S/4HANA viewed favourably.
• Ideally IFRS 16 knowledge.
• Some Public Practice exposure beneficial.
