Finance Manager / Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager / Accountant in Kuala Lumpur. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in maintaining the financial integrity and reporting accuracy of our organisation. As Finance Manager / Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing financial accounting operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing timely financial reporting to support strategic decision-making across the business. This position is integral to our finance function and contributes directly to the organisation's financial health and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, journal entries, and reconciliations
• Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely processing and resolution of discrepancies
• Conduct financial reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and other balance sheet accounts
• Monitor and analyse financial transactions to identify errors and implement corrective actions
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and accounting standards, including statutory reporting requirements
• Support internal and external audit processes by providing documentation and explanations
• Prepare financial reports and analysis for management review and decision-making
• Manage payroll administration and ensure accurate employee compensation processing
• Maintain financial documentation and records in accordance with organisational policies and regulatory requirements
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities to support financial planning
• Liaise with tax authorities and other regulatory bodies as required

What we're looking for

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Professional accounting qualification or certification (e.g., ACCA, ACA, or equivalent) is highly desirable

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in financial accounting and reporting within a similar role

• Proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems, with strong Microsoft Excel skills

• Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial statements preparation, and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) or Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS)

• Knowledge of Malaysian tax regulations and statutory reporting requirements

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines whilst maintaining accuracy

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly

• Integrity and commitment to maintaining confidentiality of financial information

• Experience in payroll administration is advantageous
