Finance Manager

About the role

We are seeking a highly capable and commercially minded Finance Manager to take ownership of our New Zealand finance operations. This role will oversee the business' financial control function, including but not limited to full ownership of the GL, AP & AR, Month end & Year end obligations, Statutory requirements and Audit & Tax coordination. The role also oversees Payroll and provides leadership of onshore and offshore teams. This role will also partner with the local commercial & operations teams to drive sustainable profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month end processes, including reporting & balance sheet reconciliations
• Oversee AP, AR, payroll and ensure on-time compliance with tax requirements
• Lead year end close and relevant audits
• Oversee & ensure compliance with statutory / regulatory requirements including but not limited to banking obligations, contractual topics, insurance programs
• Monitor adherence to, and implement accounting policies, internal processes & controls
• Identify opportunities to improve productivity and profitability within and external to the team
• Review & improve finance and administrative procedures as needed
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes, as well as ad hoc projects as required by the business

About you

• CA/CPA qualification
• At least 5+ years proven financial control experience
• Demonstrated experience managing Finance operations, including AP, AR and payroll
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles as well as financial reporting and tax requirements
• A working knowledge of SAP
• Detail oriented with a working level of commercial awareness
• Solid communicator that can effectively translate issues around the business
• Proactive and solution focussed. Builds and manages relationships
• Adaptable. Can manage competing priorities and work under pressure
• High level of integrity that breeds trust
