Finance Manager

The Opportunity Integrated Foods Ltd sits inside the Mangatū Group, which manages forestry, carbon, food and investment assets on behalf of its shareholders. It's a business, not a trust. There are active projects being investigated and business development underway to grow it further.

The role runs wider than the title suggests. You'll own IFRS RDR reporting, consolidations, the year end audit and GST, FBT and PAYE compliance, and lead a team of five while running forward looking management accounting and budgeting. Call it 60 percent technical, 40 percent commercial.

The role sits 2IC to the CFO, with a seat in the Monday leadership meeting alongside the GM team, and involvement in cash flow and CapEx decisions across the group.

The Role

• Prepare IFRS RDR financial reporting and consolidations across the group.
• Manage the year end audit process, including foreign currency, fixed assets, inventory and livestock reporting.
• Ensure compliance with GST, FBT, PAYE and other statutory requirements.
• Lead management accounting, annual budgeting and weekly cash flow forecasting.
• Manage and develop a team of five across accounts payable, payroll, senior administration, assistant accounting and business analysis.
• Act as 2IC to the CFO, including presenting at the Monday leadership meeting and input into CapEx and major expense approval.

What We're Looking For
This role needs someone who brings a view and is comfortable backing it, including with GMs, rather than someone who waits to be told. You'll be managing an experienced team that does best with hands-on leadership: someone who follows projects through rather than lets them drift.

On the technical side, you'll need IFRS RDR reporting experience, including consolidations, and the confidence to run a year end audit end to end. That experience could come from Big Four or a high calibre mid tier practice, ready to make the move into industry, or from time already spent in industry with strong reporting and leadership behind you. What matters is the capability, not the title on your last business card.

You'll need a CA qualification and genuine experience managing people. This isn't a fit for someone after a quiet technical seat with no interest in leading a team or engaging with GMs directly.

The Details This is a Gisborne based role, in-office with one work from home day a week. Relocation support is available and will be assessed case by case. Napier will also be considered for the right candidate.
