About Theatre Safe Australia
Theatre Safe Australia (TSA) is a national business delivering technical services, project solutions and engineered systems across the live entertainment, entertainment infrastructure and venue sectors.
Through a combination of organic growth and strategic acquisitions, TSA continues to expand its capabilities, services and geographic reach, creating new opportunities for both the business and its people.
About the Role
As TSA continues to grow nationally, we are seeking a commercially minded Finance Manager to help shape the next stage of our journey.
Reporting directly to the General Manager and working closely with the CEO and Leadership Team, you will play a key role in financial management, strategic planning, business improvement and growth initiatives across a multi-entity organisation.
This is a hands-on role with genuine responsibility and broad exposure across the business. You will take ownership of financial reporting, cashflow management, compliance and commercial support, while providing practical financial insights that influence operational decision-making and business performance.
Beyond maintaining strong financial controls, you will contribute to budgeting, forecasting, strategic planning, systems improvement and business growth projects. You will work closely with leaders across the organisation to identify opportunities, manage risk and support the continued growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Control
- Prepare monthly management reports with clear insights into business performance, profitability and key financial drivers.
- Maintain general ledger integrity, including journals, accruals, prepayments and intercompany reconciliations.
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain fixed asset registers and oversee depreciation and asset accounting.
Cashflow, Budgeting & Forecasting
- Manage weekly cashflow forecasting and reporting.
- Prepare budgets, forecasts and variance analysis across multiple business units.
- Monitor financial performance and identify emerging risks and opportunities.
- Support leadership with financial modelling, scenario planning and business forecasting.
Taxation & Compliance
- Manage BAS, payroll tax, FBT and other statutory reporting obligations.
- Coordinate the preparation of tax returns and year-end financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with ATO, payroll tax, superannuation and other regulatory requirements.
- Support tax planning initiatives and provide practical advice on taxation matters impacting business operations and growth.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory changes and assess their impact on the business.
Commercial & Strategic Support
- Provide financial insight to support operational and strategic decision-making.
- Assist with business planning, funding applications, growth initiatives and strategic projects.
- Support project costing, profitability analysis and commercial reviews.
- Partner with operational managers to improve financial understanding and business performance.
Systems & Process Improvement
- Contribute to the ongoing development of financial systems, reporting tools and ERP implementation.
- Improve financial processes, controls and reporting structures.
- Drive efficiencies and promote best-practice financial management across the business.
About You
You are a commercially minded accountant who enjoys understanding how a business operates and using financial information to improve outcomes.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Accounting qualifications (CA, CPA or working towards qualification preferred).
- Experience in a multi-entity, project-based or operational business environment.
- Strong technical accounting, reporting and cashflow management skills.
- Solid understanding of Australian taxation and compliance requirements.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting systems such as Xero.
- The ability to translate financial information into practical, actionable insights.
- A hands-on approach, strong attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset.
What We Offer
- Partner directly with the CEO, General Manager and Leadership Team.
- Influence business growth, strategic planning and key commercial decisions.
- Take ownership of finance across a growing multi-entity national organisation.
- Lead improvements in financial systems, reporting and ERP development.
- Exposure to acquisitions, growth initiatives and business transformation projects.
- Competitive salary and long-term career opportunities.
