Our client is a long-established, New Zealand-owned business with a high-quality product range and a strong brand presence across its key markets. Based in South Canterbury, the business is well positioned for continued growth and is seeking a new Finance Manager to work alongside procurement and operations while also supporting the CFO.

We see this as a broadly based finance role offering the opportunity to step beyond the more traditional accounting areas and develop valuable commercial and operational experience.

Reporting to the CFO, the initial focus will see you gaining exposure to procurement, supplier relationships, inventory optimisation and supply chain planning. Working closely with operational leaders, you will provide insight that supports better decisions, improved performance and sustainable growth. At the same time, you will pick up aspects of the financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting with the aim of developing as a leader in the business and providing a strong link between finance and operations.

The role will particularly suit a finance professional who is curious about how a business operates and wants to become a genuine business partner, so will offer the scope to use your financial expertise while building capability across supply chain, operations and business improvement.

You will bring strong financial and analytical skills, commercial thinking and the confidence to work across a business. Qualifications at CA or equivalent level is preferred along with a good understanding of accounting systems, strong Excel skills would also be advantageous.
