About the role

We are seeking a Finance Manager to join our finance team at Avalon Chemical Solutions, Inc. in Davao City, Davao del Sur. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in managing the financial operations and strategic financial planning of our organisation.

As Finance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities, ensuring accurate reporting, and providing strategic financial guidance to support business decision-making. This role is integral to maintaining financial health, compliance, and sustainable growth across the organisation.

What you'll be doing

• Managing day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions
• Preparing and presenting accurate financial statements, reports, and analyses to senior management and stakeholders
• Developing and monitoring budgets, forecasts, and financial plans to support business objectives
• Overseeing the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
• Implementing and maintaining effective internal controls and financial procedures to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards
• Conducting financial analysis and variance investigations to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
• Managing relationships with external auditors and preparing documentation for audit activities
• Supervising and mentoring finance team members, fostering a culture of accuracy and continuous improvement
• Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies
• Collaborating with other departments to support financial planning and operational efficiency

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Professional accounting qualification (CPA, CA, or equivalent) is highly desirable
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in financial management, accounting, or a similar finance role
• Proven experience with financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and tax regulations
• Proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems; experience with ERP systems is advantageous
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders
• Knowledge of the chemical or manufacturing industry is preferred but not essential
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant financial tools
