Finance Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Finance Manager to join OGC BUILDER SDN.BHD in Kuala Lumpur. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in managing the financial operations and reporting functions of our organisation. The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing financial accounting, preparing accurate financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This role is essential to the strategic financial management of the company and will work closely with senior management to provide timely financial insights that drive business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards
• Manage the general ledger, account reconciliations and ensure the accuracy of all financial records
• Develop and maintain financial accounting policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance
• Monitor and analyse financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying variances and providing explanations
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, tax regulations and internal controls
• Supervise and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance and support on technical accounting matters
• Liaise with external auditors and manage the audit process
• Prepare financial reports and analysis for management and stakeholders
• Implement and improve accounting systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable and other day-to-day accounting functions

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Professional accounting qualification such as CA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent is highly desirable
• Minimum 5 years of experience in financial accounting and reporting, preferably in a managerial capacity
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian accounting standards and tax regulations
• Proficiency in accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools
• Excellent understanding of financial statements, budgeting and forecasting
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Proven ability to manage and lead a team effectively
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Knowledge of internal controls and risk management is an advantage
