Job Description – Accountant

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and responsible Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting operations, maintain accurate financial records, support financial reporting, and ensure timely completion of accounting activities in compliance with company policies and UAE requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records and financial transactions.
• Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
• Prepare and process sales invoices, purchase invoices, receipts, payments, and journal entries.
• Perform daily bank, cash, and credit-card reconciliations.
• Follow up on outstanding customer receivables and supplier payments.
• Verify invoices, purchase orders, delivery notes, and supporting documents before processing.
• Maintain proper filing and documentation of accounting records.
• Assist with monthly closing activities and preparation of financial reports.
• Prepare and maintain General Ledger, Trial Balance, Profit & Loss, and Balance Sheet schedules.
• Monitor expenses and assist with budget and cash-flow tracking.
• Assist with VAT-related accounting, reconciliations, and supporting documentation in accordance with UAE VAT requirements.
• Coordinate with the sales, procurement, warehouse, and management teams regarding accounting-related matters.
• Assist with audits and provide required financial documents and supporting schedules.
• Identify discrepancies and ensure timely correction of accounting entries.
• Maintain confidentiality of company financial and commercial information.
• Ensure all accounting transactions are properly authorized and supported by relevant documents.
• Perform other finance and accounting duties assigned by management.

System & ERP Responsibilities

• Record and maintain transactions in the company's accounting/ERP system.
• Ensure proper linkage between Purchase Orders, Purchase Invoices, Sales Orders, Sales Invoices, Payments, and Receipts.
• Monitor outstanding transactions and ensure accounting records are updated on time.
• Assist in maintaining accurate customer, supplier, and item-related financial information within the ERP system.
• Coordinate with the ERP/IT team for accounting system issues and improvements.
