MY World Preschool Ltd was founded by Metropolitan YMCA of Singapore. Our roots go all the way back to year 1980. We are still as committed as ever, to provide affordable and quality infant and child care services to our communities. We adopt a learner-centred and inquiry-based approach, with an emphasis on sustainability, character development and teaching of values. M.Y World was appointed an Anchor Operator (AOP) by the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA) in 2014.

We are looking at the Finance Manager to assist our Financial Controller in preparing monthly financial statements and providing the necessary support to ensure procedural compliance, accounting integrity and effective workflow within Finance with other operating departments and external agencies.

Responsibilities

• Ensures timely preparation and submission of full set of financial statements for monthly management meeting.
• Assists in the preparation of annual financial reports for year end.
• Keeps abreast of accounting standards, charity regulations, tax regulations, company laws/regulations and other applicable regulations, for purpose ensuring compliance.
• Leads & directs annual budget planning and budget review with respective departments.
• Prepares month-end audit schedules and accounting reconciliations.
• Supervises, monitors and follows up with staff in their daily tasks and provides guidance to staff on resolution of accounting issues.
• Performs financial analysis and conducts financial reviews and reports to Financial Controller on a monthly basis.
• Evaluates financial governance and controls in a fast-changing operating environment.
• Assists Financial Controller in reporting to ECDA and government agencies.
• Liaises with IT vendors and supports end-users on accounting system related issues.
• Assists internal and external auditors as and when necessary.
• Liaises with external parties including auditors, consultants and government agencies on finance, audit, GST and other related matters.
• Supports organisation’s goals and philosophy through active involvement in corporate projects, fund-raising efforts and community services.
• Performs other related duties when required from time to time.

Requirements

• Degree in Finance, Accounting or its equivalent
• At least three years of working experience in a Finance or Accounting function
• Strong knowledge of local accounting standards, financial and budget management practices
• Ability to lead, motivate, coach and mentor staff to develop new skills/ competencies and identifying training and development
• Ability to meet deadlines and handle diverse tasks simultaneously using prioritization
• Strong interpersonal communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills
• High level problem solving and negotiation skills
• Ability to work independently and under pressure, think analytically and be responsive
