Business Analyst – MD’s Office

Lanka Shipping & Logistics (Pvt) Ltd (LSL) , a part of the Hayleys Advantis Group , is a diversified maritime and logistics services provider operating across Sri Lanka. As we continue to drive growth, operational excellence, and strategic transformation, we are looking for a high-calibre professional to join the Managing Director’s Office as a Business Analyst .

The Role

The Business Analyst will work closely with the Managing Director and senior leadership team, providing data-driven insights, business analysis, and strategic support to facilitate informed decision-making and drive key business priorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze business performance, financial and operational data to identify trends, opportunities, risks, and areas for improvement.
• Prepare management dashboards, reports, presentations, and business reviews for the Managing Director and senior leadership.
• Support the MD’s Office in tracking strategic initiatives, key performance indicators (KPIs), and critical business priorities.
• Conduct business and market analysis to support strategic planning, investment decisions, and new business opportunities .
• Develop financial and business models, scenario analyses, and forecasts to support decision-making.
• Work with cross-functional teams to gather, validate, and interpret business information.
• Identify performance gaps and provide data-backed recommendations to improve profitability, productivity, and operational efficiency.
• Support special projects and strategic initiatives led by the Managing Director.
• Conduct competitor, industry, and market research relevant to the maritime, logistics, and supply chain sectors.
• Follow up on key management decisions and action points, ensuring timely progress and visibility to the MD’s Office.
• Assist in preparing business cases and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Analytics, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in Business Analytics,. Experience in the shipping, logistics, or supply chain industry will be an added advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• Experience with Power BI or other business intelligence tools.
• Good understanding of financial and operational KPIs.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Previous experience in shipping, logistics, supply chain, or a related industry would be an advantage.
