Finance Manager

Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities1. Financial Accounting & Reporting

• Manage day-to-day finance and accounting operations and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing of accounts.
• Review general ledger, bank reconciliations, balance sheet schedules, and financial records.
• Prepare revenue, profitability, cost, and other financial analysis reports for management.

2. Budgeting & Financial Planning

• Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
• Monitor actual performance against budgets and provide variance analysis.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and provide recommendations to improve profitability.
• Support management in strategic decision-making through financial analysis and insights.

3. Cash Flow & Working Capital Management

• Prepare and monitor cash flow forecasts and ensure adequate liquidity.
• Monitor receivables, payables, inventory, and overall working capital.
• Develop strategies to improve collections and optimize cash utilization.
• Coordinate with banks regarding banking facilities, loans, guarantees, and other financial arrangements.

4. Trading / Manufacturing Finance Operations

• Monitor profitability across products, projects, and business units.

• Analyze gross margins, pricing, product costs, and overall cost structures.

• For Trading Operations:

• Monitor inventory purchases, supplier payments, sales margins, and stock movement.

• Analyze product-wise profitability and inventory performance.

• For Manufacturing Operations:

• Monitor production costs, raw material consumption, overheads, and manufacturing costs.

• Prepare product costing and variance analysis.

• Support inventory valuation and cost-control initiatives.

• Monitor supplier payments and customer collections.

• Review ageing reports and ensure timely follow-up on overdue receivables.

• Establish and maintain effective credit control procedures.

• Ensure timely reconciliation of customer and vendor accounts.

6. Tax, Audit & Statutory Compliance

• Ensure compliance with applicable UAE tax regulations, including VAT and Corporate Tax.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors and ensure timely completion of audits.
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
• Liaise with auditors, banks, tax authorities, and other relevant government authorities as required.

7. Internal Controls & Process Improvement

• Develop and implement effective financial policies, procedures, and controls.
• Strengthen internal controls to minimize financial and operational risks.
• Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, efficiency, and cost control.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and financial procedures.

8. Team Management

• Lead, supervise, and manage the Finance & Accounts team.
• Allocate responsibilities and monitor team performance.
• Review and approve financial transactions and accounting activities as required.
• Mentor and guide team members and ensure timely completion of finance activities.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• CA qualification is mandatory.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, preferably within a trading, manufacturing, FMCG, or similar business environment.
• Strong knowledge of financial accounting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, working capital, and financial reporting.
