What they need

About the role

Finance Manager will take charge of the day-to-day finance operations of the business — including accounts, compliance, and the payroll cycle for contract staff deployed across multiple client organisations. This role is ideal for a hands-on finance professional who is equally comfortable managing numbers and working closely with operations teams.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts and financial statements in accordance with MFRS and the Companies Act 2016
  • Ensure timely statutory filings with SSM, LHDN, RMCD, EPF, SOCSO, and EIS
  • Oversee corporate tax computations, deferred tax, and SST compliance; liaise with tax agents on submissions
  • Maintain accurate and complete accounting records across the recruitment and contract staffing business units
  • Manage the end-to-end payroll process for contract staff employed by the company and deployed to various client organisations, ensuring accuracy in headcount, hours, rates, and statutory deductions
  • Review and verify client invoices for contract staffing services, ensuring billing rates and commercial terms are correctly applied per each client's agreement
  • Reconcile payroll costs against client billing on a monthly basis; monitor accounts receivable and follow up on overdue collections
  • Prepare monthly payroll cost and billing summaries for management review
  • Coordinate and support the annual external audit process; prepare audit schedules, lead schedules, and supporting documentation
  • Support the annual budget preparation and monthly variance analysis process

About you

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 to 8 years of finance and accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role
  • Strong technical knowledge of MFRS, Companies Act 2016, and Malaysian employment regulations (EPF, SOCSO, EIS, PCB, Employment Act 1955)
  • Hands-on and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple payroll cycles and compliance deadlines simultaneously
  • Proficient in accounting software (SQL Accounting, Autocount, SAP, or equivalent) and Microsoft Excel
  • Good communication skills with the ability to work closely with operations, recruitment, and admin teams
  • Experience managing payroll for a sizeable headcount, particularly in a contract staffing or employer-of-record environment, is a strong advantage
  • MIA membership or professional qualification (ACCA, CPA Australia, CIMA) is preferred
  • Exposure to recruitment, professional services, or multi-entity environments is preferred
