Finance Manager

JOB PURPOSE

The role oversees the day‑to‑day financial operations of the Manila and Clark office, ensuring accurate reporting, strong financial controls, compliance with local and international regulatory requirements, and smooth coordination with onshore and offshore teams. This role leads the Manila and Clark Finance Team, supports statutory and regulatory reporting, manages AP and cash processes, and drives ongoing process improvement across finance operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Financial Reporting and Compliance

• Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring that all journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations are completed on time.
• Oversee the timely and accurate processing of financial transactions, including vendor payments, employee expense reimbursements, bank account management, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare and submit financial statements, tax returns, and management reports to the India office, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Philippine accounting standards, tax regulations, and corporate policies.
• Ensure all financial records and accounting documentation are maintained in accordance with applicable accounting standards, statutory requirements, and internal controls.
• Manage compliance and timely reporting to various Philippine regulatory offices e.g. Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC), Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA), LGU and other government agencies including annual renewal of business permits.
• Coordinate and manage external and internal audit activities, ensuring timely submission of audit requirements and resolution of audit findings.
• Manage Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) audits, including Letter of Authority (LOA) and Tax Verification Notices, and other tax examinations.
• Ensure audit findings are properly addressed and, when necessary, formally protested through submission of supporting documentation and legal rulings/regulations.

2. Accounting Operations and Payroll

• Supervise and oversee core accounting functions, including Accounts Payable (AP),Payroll, General Ledger (GL), and related financial processes.
• Ensure that transactions are recorded promptly and accurately, and that supporting documentation is complete and compliant with internal policies and government regulations.
• Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets, mitigate risks, and ensure financial reporting integrity.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation to enhance operational efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
• Review payroll and final pay computations and accounting entries to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with labor requirements, accounting standards, and corporate policies.

3. Budgeting and Forecasting

• Review and monitor budgets and cash flow projections to support business objectives and liquidity requirements.
• Support management in financial planning and decision-making.
• Manage banking relationships and treasury activities, including foreign currency conversions (USD to PHP), cash management, investments, Treasury Bills, and other banking transactions, ensuring optimal rates, liquidity, and compliance with company policies.
• Monitor cash positions and funding requirements to ensure sufficient working capital and efficient utilization of financial resources.

4. Others

• Coordinate with Company Legal Counsel (Resident Agent) on matters related to SEC regulatory filings, and corporate governance requirements.
• Lead, mentor, and develop finance team members through coaching, performance management, and succession planning.
• Support business expansion initiatives, financial planning activities, and corporate structuring projects to align with organizational objectives.
• Monitor changes in accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements, assess their impact on the organization, and ensure timely implementation of necessary actions.
• Serve as the primary finance business partner to India Head Office, department heads and operational leaders.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance; CPA or equivalent qualification preferred
• Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including at least five (5) years in leadership role
• Strong knowledge of Philippine tax regulations and government compliance requirements, particularly those of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and Local Government Units (LGUs).
• Experience managing BIR assessments, Letters of Authority (LOA), tax investigations, and PEZA compliance requirements. ▪ Proven experience in managing financial reporting, month-end and year-end closing processes, statutory audits, and tax audits.
• Experience working in a shared services, multinational, or business process outsourcing (BPO) environment. ▪ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to provide financial insights and recommendations to management.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and with regional or global teams
